The Preface To “Centuries”: A Podcast Reading

My new collection of essays, Centuries, was published on June 23, 2024. It contains all pieces published between 2020 and 2023. The book is currently available in both paperback and Kindle, and a hardcover version will be coming shortly. This podcast is a reading from the book’s preface. It distills some of the ideas I consider most important.

  1. It is frightening to imagine what the world will look like in a few years or decades if men do not cultivate the cardinal virtues and instead focus solely on gratifying their desires of the flesh, constantly chasing fleeting pleasures instead of striving to become more virtuous. The modern world has truly turned upside down. We tell young men to indulge their desires, to experiment, and to engage in behaviors that were once labeled as vice or sin. These actions are no longer forbidden; modern society considers them essential to living a good life. We have strayed so far from the path of virtue.

However, I have found refuge in your essays Mr. Curtius. Thank you for all your effort!
