A reader has a high-powered job and is able to function effectively in what he does.

But he’s concerned that he may not be as decisive as he needs to be in his personal life.

We offer some suggestions.

  1. This reminds me of the feelings I had felt from the trap of focusing too intensely on self improvement. At times this manifested as doubt or indecisiveness as I would be constantly forcing myself to be better and better but despite the improvements I failed to see the value of the journey and never stopped to enjoy the scenery along the way.

I think the reader may have similar thoughts that they should ALWAYS be working on self improvement but we do need to spend time to appreciate what we have worked hard for already. I found this trait is a big reason why they are successful but it is also why they feel somewhat guilty for having a small rest.

It has only been this past week that I am becoming to understand my own skeletons and I had these exact same feelings, right now I am focusing on correcting the balance.

I do find it is strangely comforting that no matter what successes a man has or his age we all have similar thoughts. Hearing from the other readers in the position where I want to work towards does give me reassurance for the future.
